BIRATNAGAR, June 27: Raj Kumar Tamang aka Dev Raj Lama, who took the responsibility for the Babarmahal blast four months ago, which killed three persons has been arrested in PanchtharTuesday night.
The Regional Police Office, Biratnagar made him public organizing a press conference on Wednesday morning. The regional police chief, DIG Surendra Bahadur Shah informed that Lama was nabbed from Lungruppa VDC-2, Panchthar last night.
According to Shah, Lama originally from Dhankuta, had fled and had been in hiding in the district since the last three months.
"He was working closely with Kirant Janbadi Workers and former Maoist combatants in the district. After a preliminary investigation, it has been learnt that they were planning explosions in Panchthar, Jhapa and Ilam," DIG Shah said.
Krishna Bahadur Tamang, Bir Bahadur Tamang and Man Bahadur Tamang had lost their lives in the explosion in Babarmahal on Febuary 27. Lama had owned up to the blast via media using in the name of Bishwakranti. - Republica
