Man kills wife, daughter

JHAPA, June 27: A man, native of Manipur, India, has killed his wife and his daughter in Jalthal-4 of Jhapa. 

Shobha Manipure killed his wife Narmaya, 30, and his three-month-old daughter Revika. He also tried to kill his four-year-old son Arun. His son has been rushed to Biratnagar for treatment. 

Manipure was staying with his family at his in-laws´ in Jhapa.

'Mastermind' behind Babarmahal blast in police net

BIRATNAGAR, June 27: Raj Kumar Tamang aka Dev Raj Lama, who took the responsibility for the Babarmahal blast four months ago, which killed three persons has been arrested  in PanchtharTuesday night. 

The Regional Police Office, Biratnagar made him public organizing a press conference on Wednesday morning. The regional police chief, DIG Surendra Bahadur Shah informed that Lama was nabbed from Lungruppa VDC-2, Panchthar last night. 

Thirty dead‚ 150‚000 stranded in Bangladesh floods

DHAKA: Days of heavy rain in Bangladesh has set off flash floods and landslides which have killed more than 30 people and stranded about 150,000, police and officials said on Wednesday.

Low-lying and densely populated Bangladesh is battered by torrential downpours during the wet season which began in the past few weeks, but one official said the rain this month was the heaviest for years.

Madhesi leader Bhandari to launch new party today

KATHMANDU: Sharat Singh Bhandari, along with his supporters who broke away with Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Democratic, is scheduled to organise a national political conference today.

Over 2,500 cadres from 27 districts are expected to attend the national political conference in Kathmandu where the name, flag and statute of the party would be finalised.

The two-day gathering is also anticipated to discuss current political problems, federalism and socio-economic agendas that the new party might pursue in the days ahead.
